LAKE MANYARA DAY TRIP ITINERARY

Early in the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha and drive to Lake Manyara National Park. The park covers the northwest part of the alkaline Lake Manyara, which lies along the Great Rift Valley. It is well known for its flamingos, pelicans, and cormorants, but you can also find hundreds of other bird species here — making it a true paradise for bird lovers.

Besides the birds, you will also have a chance to see some of Africa’s famous wildlife. With some luck, you may spot elephants in the forested areas and, if you’re even luckier, the famous tree-climbing lions. For a long time, Lake Manyara was believed to be the only place where lions show this unique behavior. You’ll also see baboons and vervet monkeys in the forests, while in the open plains, giraffes and different kinds of antelopes feed on fresh leaves and grass.

After enjoying a picnic lunch in the park, you will have more time for game viewing and exploring before returning to Arusha in the evening.
