After an early breakfast at your hotel, we will pick you up and begin our journey from Arusha to the Ngorongoro Crater — one of the best times to spot wildlife. Today, you will enjoy a game drive around the crater and stop for a picnic lunch by a small lake inside the park. The lake is home to many hippos and migratory birds, making it a perfect spot to relax and take in the beauty of nature.
Thanks to the rich ecosystem within the crater, there is a high chance of spotting all members of the famous “Big Five” — the powerful lion, the giant elephant, the elusive leopard, the sturdy rhino, and the mighty buffalo. The Ngorongoro Crater is truly a natural wonder. Did you know it was formed over two million years ago when a large volcano erupted and collapsed, leaving behind a vast and unbroken caldera?
Inside this stunning landscape, you can expect to see playful zebras, grazing wildebeests, wallowing hippos, and cackling hyenas. Graceful flamingos line the Soda Lake, while hawks and vultures circle above in search of their next meal.
