Two full days in the Maasai Mara give genuine depth to the wildlife portion of the trip — morning and afternoon game drives tracking lion, elephant, cheetah, and, season permitting, the Great Wildebeest Migration itself. From there, Lake Naivasha offers a change of pace: a boat ride among hippos and birdlife, or a walking safari at Crescent Island to see giraffe and zebra up close on foot. The itinerary closes in Amboseli, famous for its large elephant herds and some of Africa's most photographed views of Mount Kilimanjaro, before returning to Nairobi with an en-route game drive on the final day.

Day 1: Nairobi to Maasai Mara

Pick-up in Nairobi and drive to the Maasai Mara, arriving in time for lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon, head out for your first game drive, where you may spot lions, elephants, cheetahs, and — depending on season — the wildebeest migration. Overnight in the Maasai Mara. Meals: Lunch, Dinner.
