This three-to-four day itinerary is built specifically around photography, with drive timing planned for the best light rather than a generic schedule.

Detailed Description

The park's mix of dry open plains and vibrant wetlands creates striking visual contrast, and its wildlife density means diverse subject matter within a relatively small area — elephants, lions, cheetahs, hyenas, and over 400 recorded bird species. Game drives are scheduled around the golden hours (6–9 AM and late afternoon) when light is softest and wildlife most active, with July to September offering the most dramatic dust-and-light conditions for classic safari imagery. A 100–400mm or longer telephoto zoom is recommended for wildlife, paired with a 24–70mm for landscapes and storytelling shots — our guides help position vehicles for the best possible angles at each stop.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi to Amboseli — Arrival & Golden Hour Game Drive

Depart Nairobi in the morning, arriving in Amboseli in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive timed for golden-hour light and, on clear days, striking Kilimanjaro views. Overnight in Amboseli.

Day 2: Sunrise Game Drive & Observation Hill

An early sunrise game drive for elephant silhouettes and the clearest Kilimanjaro visibility of the day, followed by a stop at Observation Hill for panoramic landscape shots. Overnight in Amboseli.

Day 3: Swamp Photography & Full-Day Wildlife Focus

A full day photographing elephants bathing and interacting around Amboseli's swamps, plus dedicated time for predator and birdlife photography across the park's varied terrain. Overnight in Amboseli.

Day 4: Final Sunrise Session & Departure

One last sunrise game drive for parting shots before the drive back to Nairobi.
