DETAILED DESCRIPTION
Missing the river crossing is the single most common regret among Great Migration travelers who book too short a trip. This itinerary solves that problem by design — with a full eight days based around the Masai Mara's key crossing points, giving you multiple opportunities across different days and conditions to witness the drama of a wildebeest crossing, rather than betting everything on one or two game drives. Our trackers stay in constant contact with rangers and other guides to reposition you quickly when a crossing looks imminent, and additional days are built in specifically as a buffer against unpredictable herd movements.
DAY-BY-DAY ITINERARY
Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara Road or scheduled flight transfer to the Mara, afternoon game drive on arrival. Overnight tented camp.
Days 2–7: Masai Mara — Migration Tracking Six full days of game drives concentrated around the Mara River and known crossing points, with flexible daily routing based on tracker and ranger updates on herd movements. Includes an optional hot air balloon safari over the migration herds. Overnight tented camp each night.
Day 8: Masai Mara – Nairobi Final sunrise game drive, breakfast, then return transfer to Nairobi.
