1. Booking and Reservations
All bookings with Afric Mzizi Safaris are subject to availability and confirmation. To secure your safari, trekking, or beach holiday, a deposit (typically 30% of the total cost) is required at the time of booking. Full payment must be made at least 30 days prior to departure. Bookings can be made via email (sales@africmzizisafaris.com or res@africmzizisafaris.com), phone +2547 18 885 707, or through our website’s contact form. A booking is confirmed only upon receipt of the deposit and written confirmation from Afric Mzizi Safaris.
2. Payment Terms
Payments can be made via bank transfer, credit card, or other methods specified at the time of booking. All prices are quoted in USD or KES, and any bank charges or currency conversion fees are the responsibility of the client. Full payment is due 30 days before the start of your tour. Failure to make timely payments may result in the cancellation of your booking without refund of the deposit.
3. Cancellation and Refund Policy
Cancellations must be submitted in writing to res@africmzizisafaris.com. The following cancellation fees apply:
- More than 60 days before departure: 20% of the total cost.
- 30–60 days before departure: 50% of the total cost.
- Less than 30 days before departure: 100% of the total cost.
Refunds for cancellations due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., medical emergencies) are subject to review and may incur administrative fees. No refunds are provided for unused services, such as missed game drives or accommodations, once the tour has started.
4. Travel Insurance
All travelers are required to have comprehensive travel insurance covering medical emergencies, trip cancellations, and personal liability. Afric Mzizi Safaris is not responsible for any costs arising from accidents, illness, or loss of personal belongings during the tour. Proof of insurance may be requested prior to departure.
5. Health and Safety
Travelers are responsible for ensuring they are physically fit for their chosen activities, such as trekking Mount Kilimanjaro or gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. We recommend consulting a doctor for vaccinations and health precautions for travel to Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. Afric Mzizi Safaris employs certified guides and follows strict safety protocols, but clients participate in activities at their own risk. Always follow the instructions of your guide during safaris and treks.
6. Liability
Afric Mzizi Safaris acts as an agent for accommodations, transport, and other services and is not liable for any loss, injury, delay, or damage caused by third-party providers, natural disasters, or other unforeseen events. We reserve the right to alter itineraries due to weather, safety concerns, or park regulations, with no liability for additional costs incurred by clients.
7. Responsible Tourism
Afric Mzizi Safaris is committed to sustainable and responsible tourism. Clients are expected to respect local cultures, wildlife, and environments. Do not litter, disturb wildlife, or engage in activities that harm the ecosystems or communities we visit, such as Maasai or Samburu villages. Violation of these principles may result in termination of your tour without refund.
8. Itinerary Changes
While we strive to adhere to planned itineraries, Afric Mzizi Safaris reserves the right to modify routes, accommodations, or activities due to unforeseen circumstances, such as weather conditions, road closures, or park regulations. We will provide comparable alternatives where possible, and clients will be informed promptly of any changes.
9. Visa and Travel Documentation
Clients are responsible for obtaining valid passports, visas, and any required permits (e.g., gorilla trekking permits) for travel to Kenya, Tanzania, or Uganda. Afric Mzizi Safaris can provide guidance but is not liable for delays or costs due to incomplete documentation. Ensure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates.
